Benrus® Commemorative World War II Watch
During World War II, Korea and Viet Nam, Benrus® Watch Company supplied millions of watches to the U.S. military. These watches became the constant and reliable companion to the American soldiers, sailors and airmen. Many have been preserved as heirlooms, passed on from father to son.
All of the watches, conformed to the U.S. Military's rigorous specifications, including a stainless steel, water-resistant case, shock resistant movement with full Swiss 17-jewel mechanical movement, and luminous dial and hands. These watches also had a special feature unknown at the time outside military circles -- the "hack" feature.
The "hack" feature permitted the sweep second hand to stop when the crown was pulled, allowing soldiers to synchronize their watches with one another. This crucial "hack" function has been immortalized in countless movies with the words "Gentlemen, synchronize your watches."
Benrus® Watch Company, original supplier to the U.S. military, has reproduced this battle-proven wristwatch in tribute to the service of those millions of American servicemen. This re-issued Benrus® military watch is made to the same exacting standards as the original. The Benrus military watch is a living testament to some of the greatest moments in the history of the USA. Face measures 1 ΒΌ".
